They are designed to ensure that decision-making across the public sector in Wales takes account of potential health impacts \u2013 both positive and unintended negative \u2013 before action is taken and inform decision making. Each guide includes templates, checklists, and links to additional resources to facilitate the HIA process.<br \/><\/p>\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/phwwhocc.co.uk\/resources\/health-impact-assessment-wales-regulations-2025-a-guide-for-public-bodies-in-wales\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Guide for Public Bodies<\/a> provides step-by-step guidance for public bodies required to carry out HIAs under the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.legislation.gov.uk\/wsi\/2025\/1215\/made\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">HIA regulations in Wales<\/a>. This revised course introduces learners to HIA in Wales, including the types, timing and principles of HIA, the health and well-being aspects, the HIA process and associated tools, as well as further reading and case study examples. It is designed to complement the Voluntary HIA Guide.
